"Here are some of the more sought out co op facts.

When you first start you choose to play Cooperative (online), Cooperatives (Sts link) or Single player.

You can only change this setting outside the game. If playing online you have a choice of 3 public slots or 3 private slots. With no public slots and only private slots only friends can drop into your game, or be invited. With public slots anyone can drop into your game via match making.

Quest are handled like borderlands. If you are at the same point as the host quest completion will be applied to your game. If the host is further ahead it will inform you that quest completion and story progress will not be applied to your game. If you are ahead of the host only the quest the host has available will be active.

Every player in coop can do quest independently, all cash and xp rewards will be shared no matter where you are on the map. Loot rewards must be acquired from the quest Npc directly. All characters receive individual versions of the reward loot and it scales to each players level. Weapon rewards will have randomly generated modifiers so each player will get a unique version. If the Npc moves or offers another quest before you accept the loot reward you won't be able to get it. You can however enter the game of a player who has not completed the quest and acquire the reward.

Zombies health increase by .25% with each added co-op buddy. The density will also increase.

Players can only join the games of people who are equal or lesser levels. I can't be level 31 and about to win the game and have a level 1 player join me. Sadly, there is no local co-op.
